It’s Teen Life Week 2! It is important that these Teen’s identities remain anonymous since we discuss very personal information. They need some kind of name on here though! Each week, I will create one for them so they at least have something to go by!
Without any further adieu: Bold and brave, quiet and sweet, and lover of Japanese Anime; these are the reasons she is dubbed: Dauntless Harajuku. This chick is super fun! There’s so much awesomeness packed inside her, and I can’t wait until she realizes her full potential. The world will be a much cooler place as soon as she lets her personality explode into it! We have had some in depth conversations with each other, and that is one of my favorite things about her. This girl reminds me a lot of myself when I was a teen, so she holds a special place in my heart! She doesn’t even know how much she changed my direction, just having her presence in my life! World… meet Dauntless Harajuku and her thoughts!
Teen Life… One paragraph… Go!
To be a teenager is like being so close to do what you want, but yet so far from reaching it. You basically have your whole future thrown at you: What you want to be, how you’re going to get there, and you need to keep to that path. You have an image to uphold these days. You’ve got to keep up with the Trend Topics, the hottest shows, and the newest fashion sense. You don’t have time to just be you.
Now, using one word, tell me what it’s like to be a teenager?
Describe your day in detail?
I wake up and sit in bed for 15 minutes debating if I should move, even when I know I need to. I do my daily morning routine, head to school, and go back home. That’s basically my life.
What do you struggle with?
Emotions & Work
What are the positives in your life?
My Family & Friends
What are the negatives in your life?
My own mind
What is the hardest thing you’ve ever had to deal with?
The first time I was lied to and used as trash
Dauntless Harajuku, trash is discarded matter that people throw out so it can never serve another purpose other than to wither away, never being seen again. The thing is… you’re a person. I SEE YOU! Even though you feel like you might have been used as trash… you’re still here, not being trash, you’re being you. Trash has no say in the matter of where it ends up once it is thrown out. You, my Japanese Princess… you have the POWER to do anything and everything you want. The world is at your fingertips. Though you can’t change the situation that happened, you can change who has the power to make you feel the way you do. Each time you rise up and kick the day, week, month, year, life’s butt… you show that person how much power you hold. Let me tell you, you possess more power than the person who treated you like trash. Why? Because they don’t value things that matter. They think the easy thing to do is to throw their valuables out when they are done with them. They don’t know or understand the importance of kindness and other people’s feelings. You, though, you have a story of how you’ve been at a low in life and your story is still being written about how you will pull through and prevail! Seeing the look on someone’s face once your story gains power = priceless!
Also, some of my most prized possessions are the used things that people threw out as trash. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. That second man… he doesn’t see the trash! He sees the story in the history and most importantly its beauty! The definition of trash is in the way you view it! Changing your view allows you to change your life!

What do you think people misunderstand about teenagers most?
We are normal human beings, we aren’t another species. Teenagers are the most misunderstood people on earth. Treated like children but expected to act like “adults”. What is your opinion on this particular saying? As a teenager myself, I absolutely agree with this quote as adults have been continuously stereotyping us, teenagers, excessively.
Adolescents nowadays are often considered as rebellious or moody or undependable, as the society have been constantly exposed to the stereotyping of adolescences. These stereotypes have a way of altering society’s mind set, causing them to be incompetent in differentiating the reality and the chosen representation, thus leading to the misunderstanding between adolescence and adults.
Whoa! There’s some power… Very deep and good words! Stereotypes are often more hurtful than helpful. You can’t put a whole group that came from different places into one tiny little box, smack a label on it, and expect them all to be the same. This isn’t a factory, and quality control isn’t walking around making sure everything and everyone is perfect before they are sent out into the world! Am I right Dauntless Harajuku?
A genie grants you three wishes, what are they?
- Unlimited Money
- World Peace
- Cure for Every Disease
If you had the power to change the world, how would you change it?
I would make a better nation. We as a nation are in so much debt. We owe so much money to different nations than our own. We should focus on our own problems, like homelessness and diseases.
Dauntless Harajuku for President in 2036???
If you had one superpower what would it be?
Have you ever been bullied?
Is bullying something that happens regularly at your school? If so, how do you handle it?
I don’t know. I don’t pay attention to what’s around at school. If I saw it, I’d probably hit the dude in the shoulder and tell him to back off.
How do you feel about gossip and how does it affect you?
Depends, I love to gossip.
What/Who inspires you? Why?
I don’t really know
Who has been the biggest influence in your life? Why?
Who is the person you would most like to meet? Why?
What do you want to say to teens out there struggling?
Just Smile and Kick Butt!
Word. I like that saying!
What do you want to say to adults out there reading this article?
Please be better understanding of us teenagers. We are going to do things we will regret later on, but we need to get it out of our systems so that we can be wise adults.
In the space below write anything that is on your heart or mind. Be completely open. This is your time!
I want to change my image.
Dauntless Harajuku, thank you so much for participating in Teen Life. In case you didn’t catch it earlier… you changed my path chick, and that changed my life. It will quite possibly change other people’s lives in the future. I’m telling you… you have power. Ball it up in your fists and use it to propel you through life! You rock my world, and I’m sending my love to you today!
There ya go folks! Another week, another teen! I love them to pieces and want to see them succeed beyond what they even realize they are capable of. Depression, anxiety, and suicide are real things out there, in ALL ages! Not any one person is immune to it. Sometimes it is hereditary, sometimes it is situational, sometimes it has to do with hormones, and sometimes it is for reasons we don’t know or understand. It is not something we should just try to cover up and will eventually go away. It is not a “phase” teens are going through. No matter how they are labeled by society; emo, gothic, troubled, unruly, out of control, or “unreachable”, they are people trying to figure out their way just like the rest of us. Love is universal. Love can work miracles. Spread it and mean it. Let’s get back to loving people more than we judge people and see how much of a difference that makes. Do you have a teen you can’t get through to? See if you can find someone who is neutral, who they can feel safe talking to, and have them be a mentor to your child! Don’t have a teen but want to help? If you know or see a teen out there who may or may not appear to be struggling, become a mentor to them. Not every teen that appears outwardly happy is truly happy inside. And, not every teen that appears angry outside is truly unhappy inside. Teens, take a chance on someone who reaches out to you. You never know how they could change your life.
Peace, Love, and Jesus,
